# About Zencore Dynamics

Zencore Dynamics is a small, owner-run mechanical contractor. We install, service
and maintain heating, cooling and refrigeration systems for homes, multi-family 
and small commercial buildings. We’re deliberately small, so the owner stays on 
every job.

## Michael, owner

Michael has spent 22 years in the trade, and most of it has been hands-on.

**Gas and fireplaces.** He started out installing and servicing fireplaces and doing
residential and commercial gas fitting.

**Commercial refrigeration.** Next came commercial refrigeration service: clean 
rooms, food processing plants, data centres and restaurants, along with make-up 
air units, cooling towers and commercial boilers. Service work on equipment that
can’t go down is where he learned to diagnose properly.

**Running a company.** He co-owned and ran a 12-person HVAC company in North Vancouver,
installing residential systems across the North Shore, the Sunshine Coast, Pender
Harbour, Anmore and the Sea-to-Sky up to Whistler and Pemberton. The company also
did two hotels in Terrace. He later sold it.

**The Arctic.** He spent a year building a fire assay lab out of sea containers 
at Hope Bay, Nunavut.

**Teaching at BCIT.** For five years he taught refrigeration and air conditioning
at BCIT. He rebuilt the curriculum and apprenticeship program to the new harmonized
Red Seal standard, and moved the whole program online, with every grade tracked.

**Zencore Dynamics.** He then started Zencore Dynamics to do the work he enjoys 
most: well-designed systems, hard service problems, and interesting projects.

## How we work

 * **The owner is involved in every job.** Michael designs every system and stands
   behind every service call.
 * **Design comes first.** Heat loss calculation, then equipment, then piping. Not
   the other way round.
 * **We finish properly.** Every new system is commissioned, and you get a written
   report of how it’s set up.
 * **We keep it running.** Annual maintenance and repairs, on our installs and other
   people’s.

 * Licensed contractor with Technical Safety BC
 * Class B Gas Fitter
 * Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic
 * TECA-certified HVAC and Hydronics Designer
 * Five years as a refrigeration and air conditioning instructor at BCIT
