Glycol systems

Glycol keeps the water in a hydronic loop from freezing. It protects outdoor heat pump piping, snowmelt systems, unheated garages and process loops, but only if it’s the right mix and it’s checked.

Why it needs checking

Glycol breaks down over time. Old glycol turns acidic, loses freeze protection and eats away at pumps and heat exchangers. We test concentration and pH, top up or replace it, and set up automatic glycol feeders so the system stays protected.

Where we use it

  • Air-to-water heat pump loops with outdoor piping
  • Driveway and walkway snowmelt
  • Garages, workshops and outbuildings
  • Process cooling and glycol chillers for breweries, wineries and food businesses

What we do

  • Annual testing and service
  • Flush and refill of old or contaminated systems
  • System design with the right glycol type and mix
  • Filling, purging and commissioning
